Welcome! My name is Femi Corazon…you can call me Femi or Cora or whatever you like!
CORALILY comes from the combination of my middle name, “Corazon” and the nickname “Lily” I gave my younger sister Lara. “Lily” came from a totally random version of the Filipino term “Li-it” which means “Little one”. My mom is Filipina, so you know, these words floated around when we were growing up.
I am a photographer…artist…creative…geek. I love taking pictures (of everything). I love my computer, my camera, and my iPhone. A quick look in my closet will tell you that I spend more money on tech than I do on clothes and purses. I like things that just WORK…and photography does it for me. I love meeting new people. I love kids and I love traveling (everywhere). That’s a whole lotta love, huh?
I have always made images. I started off drawing, then I took to painting. I found that painting is far too slow moving for me…so when I could afford it, I bought my first camera. It wasn’t much, but it was well-loved and much-used. So. I doodled pictures, I painted. I took pictures. I made images. I learned all my tech myself…and my camera was no different. All those dials and buttons begged me to investigate. So I did! And yipee, my images rewarded me!
Then one day, my niece Hailee was born. It was ::LOVE:: at first sight. I wanted to document her childhood, her sweet smiles, her cheeky grins, her brown curls, her discoveries – all of it! I realized how much it means to capture these moments in their full honest glory. Then her brother Jonah was born…and ::wow, unbelievably MORE OVERWHELMING LOVE:: and suddenly, everything crystallized. People started to ask me to take photographs for them, for their events and of their families. My sister-in-law started calling me “paparazzi”. And so it went on…until finally, by popular request, Coralily Photography was born – a perfect combination of two of my passions: photography and children. Incidentally, grown ups like working with me too. I think it’s the out-of-control curls on my head.
So let’s do this! I will help you capture some of the best memories of your life…after all, half the fun of life is in the LIVING, and the other half is in looking at the photos!
